What are you allowing in your heart? Just as you are responsible for who you allow into your home or office, you are responsible for what you allow into your heart. If you let the wrong sort of people into your home, they could cause damage, loss or harm. In the same way, when you let wrong thoughts into your heart, they can bring more troubles and difficulties. What is not fit for conversation is not fit for meditation. Jesus clearly stated that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Therefore, if the Word of God dominates your mouth, it will dominate your heart. If the Word of God dominates your heart, it will influence your conduct and behaviour. The management of our heart and its thoughts is fundamental to our faith and holy living. If your words are idle, it is because your heart is that way. If you words are pure, it is because your heart is that way. Vain and idle words are a product of a vain and idle heart. Therefore, it is time to change your thoughts and words. Speak faith. Your heart is His dwelling place but God never dwells in an unholy place. Meditation in the Word of God is a visit with Him. Jesus has no place in the life that is not dominated by His Word. “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Joshua 1:8).
