Hebrews 12:1 - “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us…” Do you want to run your race with God but there are things that are hindering your progress or forward movement? Throw it off!!! Ask Blind Bartimaeus in the book of Mark 10:46-52 and he will tell you that throwing off every hindrance and embracing Jesus Christ was the best thing he ever did in life. He cast aside his old self, sinful nature and self-righteousness and embraced Jesus Christ; he was transformed from Blind Bartimaeus to Bartimaeus with perfect vision. He discovered his real value – the real him, the prosperous him, the successful him, the healthy him; the way that God saw him. Sin or bad habits is the greatest hindrance to a person’s spiritual progress. Unless you conquer your hindrance, you cannot make any progress in life. To conquer your hindrance, you must admit that you are guilty, acknowledge your sin and trust in Christ’s sacrifice. By doing this, it will make you clean and whole within. Make a heart decision and throw off every hindrance today and live in the promise of victory as you run with perseverance the race marked out for you. Prayer Point: Lord, give me the grace to throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles in Jesus’ name.
