He Knows Your Name

There are seven billion people on this planet. You are one of them. On most days, that fact is quietly humbling — sometimes it tips into something lonelier than that.

Who sees you? Not the version of you that performs well in public, that shows up and holds it together. The real you. The one that wakes up at 3am with an unnamed weight. The one who sometimes sits in a room full of people and still feels completely alone.

But now, this is what the Lord says — he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine." — Isaiah 43:1

I have summoned you by name.

Not by category. Not by role or title or what you produce. By name. The actual you, the specific weight of your specific life, is known to the One who made it.

I think about Mary in the garden on resurrection morning. She is weeping, devastated, and the risen Christ stands before her — and she doesn't recognise Him. Not until He says one word.

Her name.

Mary.

And the entire world changed.

That is how He speaks to you. Not in a crowd. Not in a general announcement. He comes close, and He says the thing that only you would know He means — because He knows you that specifically.

You are not a number in a vast system. You are known. You are seen. And whatever you are facing today, you are not facing it as someone who has been overlooked.

He knows your name.
