Today, we no longer see ourselves as God sees us. We are no longer conscious of our sin, and that is why we dare His purity and holiness and come into His presence only to ask for His blessings. We come to Jesus with our petitions and complaints without any regard for the light of His purity and the fire of His holiness. We must believe that God knows us, even as we come with our petitions, requests, and complaints. In whichever way you come to His presence, you must believe that God knows who you were, who you are and who you shall be. He knows where you are coming from, where you are and where you intend to go. Luke 5:8 - Within his mind, Peter was conscious of his weakness. That was why he felt undeserving of Jesus’ presence and asked Him to depart from him, knowing that the purity of Jesus would not tolerate his sinful nature. Today, we are no longer conscious our weaknesses. That is why we always come to His presence to ask for blessings instead of acknowledging our weaknesses before Him. However, many of us would not have sought the face of God if we had not been made sensible by the ups and downs of life. Because you have exhausted all the advantages you felt you had in the world - that is why you are ready to embrace the superior order of Christ. Remember, in Christ’s new order there is peace, not as the world gives (John 14:27). All men make mistakes but the people of God get back up. Certainly we would fall but with Jesus supporting our position, we would soon get back up. Right now, begin to acknowledge your position as a sinner in need of forgiveness. Acknowledge your position and say to God, “Dirty as I am Lord, You can still cleanse me because no one is too good or too bad to qualify for salvation”.
