David acted on the Word and the giant was destroyed. Noah acted on the Word and a family was saved. Jesus acted on the Word and a dead man was brought back to life. Have you acted on the Word this morning? We need God’s intervention in our health, our families, our businesses, our countries and our world. Looking into the Word and acting upon it brings Jesus on the scene. What have we done to bring Jesus onto the scene? Unless you are a doer of the Word, you are not a believer of the Word. You have nothing but a sense assent, mental assent - a religion of words without corresponding action. The Scripture is useless, baseless, dead until we act on it. “But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does” (James 1: 25). It is acting on the Word that builds faith in the believer. Jesus Christ preached the Word, healed the sick and broke the power of demons over men. The Apostles preached the Word, the sick were healed and multitudes were recreated. To preach the Word means to preach Christ because Christ is the Word. We Christians, we live the Word, we do the Word, we act the Word, we trust implicitly in the Word. We know that God and His throne are backing up every Word.
