Get Familiar With God

In Matthew 4:4, “Jesus answered, ‘It is written: Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’.” The Word of God, I mean the Bible, is given to us in the first place, simply to invite us to make ourselves at home in the world of God and become familiar with the way He speaks and the way in which we answer Him with our lives. So, when we open the Bible and read it, we hear God talk, whereas by prayer, we speak to God. When we keep praying without reading the Bible, we will keep discussing our battle instead of the One who is fighting for us. For this reason, prayer and reading the Bible with devotion should always go together. One is not complete without the other. Prayer: Oh Holy Spirit, my soul is waiting for You. In Your Word is my hope, my healing, my blessing, my victory and my salvation. Let Your Word bring them, in Jesus’ name. Further Bible reading: • Mark 4:1-20 • Joshua 24:14-28 • John 15:1-8
